Senior Director, Head of Market Data – New York City


Overview:

Concertiv is hiring a Senior Director to work with investment banking, private equity, and asset management executives on their market data and information services portfolios. These services enable Concertiv clients to complete critical day-to-day tasks from deal sourcing & origination to close. As a Senior Director, you would be responsible for charting the strategy of Concertiv’s Market Data vertical, including advising clients on the proper workbench of data services required for their business and devising Concertiv’s strategy for delivering a value proposition for data providers. The Senior Director will be the tenth member of Concertiv’s growing Market Data team and will have managerial responsibilities over Associates and Analysts.


This is a hands-on role, offering broad exposure to project management, negotiation tactics, and financial services operations in a highly entrepreneurial environment. While there is a substantial analytical component to the position, it is also very much about ‘doing’ and rapidly implementing ideas, including executing the details of data-driven projects and producing client-ready presentations. This is a client-facing and vendor-facing role.

What you’ll do:

  • Negotiate vendor contracts for clients
  • Source new research, data, and technology products and recommend best-in-class services to clients
  • Devise a vendor-engagement strategy for data providers, including partnerships and preferred deals for the Concertiv group
  • Lead client interactions with senior executives (CFOs, COOs, and GCs)
  • Generate internal and external reports to track Concertiv’s execution wins and negotiating success
  • Publish vendor landscapes to help clients assess product values
  • Demo Concertiv’s Technology stack to clients and prospects to collect feedback and guide product development
  • Play an active role in the professional development of the team’s Analysts and Associates


You should have:

  • 10+ years of work experience 
  • Procurement, client service, and negotiation experience as a buyer or seller encouraged
  • Familiarity with data and research products is a plus
  • Ability to speak authoritatively to client stakeholders including the C-Suite
  • Effective written communication via email, presentations, and white papers/industry analyses
  • Ability to balance simultaneous negotiations and advisory projects across multiple clients; calm under pressure
